County Hall will be open today (28 July) following a successful operation to deal with a plant room flood which had caused a power outage.

Engineers worked on the issue to dry out the plant room and to test all of the building systems so that power to the site could be restored safely.

Reception is open as normal but the library is closed today.  Couples who have ceremonies today have been made aware of the new arrangements and planned appointments have been contacted and either rescheduled for next week or will be seen at Chippenham.  Telephone death registration appointments will proceed as booked.

Cllr Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council said: "We are pleased to be able to open County Hall again and I want to thank everyone for their patience while the issue was addressed. Our staff responded swiftly to ensure alternative arrangements were put in place where needed. Thank you to everyone for their understanding and I'm delighted we are fully up and running again at County Hall."
