About Pest Control

The team is made up of six pest control officers, a technical support officer and a team leader. The officers cover the whole of Wiltshire, with each officer covering specific areas. To reduce travel costs we cover geographical areas on certain days and will always visit an area at least twice a week.

All pest control officers hold the RSPH Level 2 award and have completed Wildlife Awareness Training to update their training to ensure that we comply with the Think Wildlife (opens new window) campaign for responsible rodenticide use (CRRU).

In addition officers attend regular refresher training on insects and rodents as well as training on new and alternative treatment method. We also hold monthly team meetings to talk about good practice and review specific treatments and materials used.

All officers wear uniforms with a Wiltshire Council logo and drive vans with our logo on as shown above. Officers carry council photo identification and will always leave written information on treatments carried out and health and safety information on the products used.

We are keen to offer advice on how to prevent pest problems and attend promotional events around Wiltshire to offer advice to customers.

Our latest customer survey carried out in January / February 2022 identified that 100% of customers thought our officers were either very knowledgeable, polite and courteous, or quite knowledgeable, polite and courteous.
