Precautionary COVID-19 measures taken at Warminster Library

Wiltshire Council's Warminster Library is taking precautionary measures after one member of its staff tested positive for COVID-19, which will result in the library being unable open on 16 January.

The library is following public health guidance, and all preventative measures have been followed, and the test and trace process is taking place to identify any close contacts.

As an extra precautionary measure, the library will be extensively cleaned before it reopens. The library is expected to reopen on 19 January to facilitate the order and collect service and for people who have booked a slot to use the computers.

Cllr Ian Blair-Pilling, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Libraries, said

We have followed all the correct measures and library users can be assured that it is as safe as possible for people to visit the library when we reopen. We apologise for the inconvenience of the short closure but the safety of our staff, volunteers and visitors remains our absolute priority.

It's a challenging time to run services such as this but I'd like to thank our staff and volunteers for everything they're doing at the moment.
